A Day Well Spent

Well,  I am not sure this would have been everyone’s idea of a day well spent,  but Ben, Mark, and I thoroughly enjoyed this day!

I needed to make a trip to Penn Yan for a few baking supplies and we wound up taking a couple of detours.  Rather than boring you,  however,  I shall allow the photos to speak for me. However, if you have any questions,  I will answer in the comments!

So, pour yourself a cup of tea and sit back….relax, and enjoy a gorgeous New York autumn afternoon…..

Do remember that if you click on the photo, a larger image will be shown….click again to see the photo even larger! Also, in hovering over the photo, a brief “title” will appear)

  • FABULOUS pics!!! I enjoyed each and every single one!! Yes….we do have to make plans to meet one day at Simply Crepes…one of these days! I do have a question for you….does the Windmill in Penn Yan sell Amish meats? We picked up the absolute best sausage when we were in Indiana visiting Amish Country and we’d love to get some more….since we haven’t ventured out to the Windmill yet…thought you might know? LOVE the gazebo with the Scottie weathervane!

  • Didn’t need to enlarge – I know you too well!!

Love the bench, only wish I didn’t dislike pumpkin.

    What’s the mast thing?

  • Jeanne, the Windmill as well as Oak Hill Farms sell John Martin (I think that is the name) meats, which are made in PA. Not sure if they are Amish or Mennonite. I never was a big fan of Amish meats like Scrapple and headcheese!!! Plus, I just don’t eat pork. I do like the Martin’s turkey sweet balogna..mmmmmm!!!!

Bill, the “mast” is actually a wind generator! (windmill, if you will) There was a sign posted in the vineyard stating it produces 1.2 kilowatts of electricity! If you like sweets, I bet that Pumpkin Whoopie Pie would be pleasing….it is so ridiculously sweet, I had to stop at Mickey D’s (McDonald’s) to grab a milk to drink with it!!!!
