Uh oh!

I often spend quite a bit of time photographing a bird or group of birds, trying to get that really “great” shot.  Unfortunately, the great shot often never comes.  That’s okay because I will find myself back at it again in just a little while!  I love photography that much!

Just a short time ago,  I decided to capture a little male Goldfinch.  There are many of them perched on the tree outside the window, so I searched for the brightest little chap….

I couldn’t have picked a better subject….

Yes, that female flew up and chased my little fellow away!

Can you say “hen-pecked”????

  • Looks like the fellow was checking you out just as you were checking him out. Maybe the “Mrs” didn’t like him looking at another “chick” hehe :)

  • …. or she was defending ‘her’ territory – it is not only males that do that.

It is interesting that ‘your’ Goldfinch doesn’t have the red coloration that ‘mine’ has.

  • Terri, that is too funny!

Bill, your photos are so nice of the finches and in looking at them again, I think our Goldfinches look more like your Greenfinches! Your “Golds” are so much more colorful!
