Gloomy and Downright Ugly!
Okay, so I *do* know it isn’t the greatest thing to dwell on the weather on one’s blog. BUT! Where on earth did this dismal, dreary, miserable weather come from anyway?
The above photo was taken this afternoon and that is how it was here the entire day! We were enshrouded in a colorless covering from dawn to dusk! We had planned to meet my parents later in the afternoon, but now I am glad we stayed home. This type of fog is scary. I remember shortly after we moved here….a mother was going to take her kids to school after they had missed the school bus. As she stopped for a bus, another vehicle came up behind her, not seeing her until it was too late. The three children in the back seat were all killed. After that accident, I purposed in my heart that I would never drive in blinding fog. No matter what! It is just too dangerous.
We just enjoyed a rather relaxing Sunday, and it felt good. Perhaps rain and fog isn’t such a bad thing, after all! Well, except for taking photos! Argh!

I really think the fog in the woods is beautiful, in a haunting sort of way. It’s much easier to appreciate the beauty of it if one isn’t forced to drive through it!
I remember that accident. It was tragic and awful. And I agree with you. I do not drive in fog unless it is an absolute emergency. Better to stay inside and enjoy the serenity of your own home and family!!
I hate hate driving in fog too, and avoid it if I can. I do think though if I’m not driving that it can be quite beautiful too.
Though I’d sooner look at it from the warm indoors, I must admit!
What a tragic accident! I always have thought of fog as beautiful, in a mysterious way, but never considered its more deadly nature.
I guess the fact that I sometimes get claustrophobic makes me not so appreciative of fog! When it gets so thick I cannot see outside, I tend to feel like my air is getting cut off!
It was sooo gross here too. We can’t handle anymore water on our lot.We actually had standing water in our front yard and it’s on a hill!! Our pad sits a bit below the front yard grade, but we’ve never had water like this. I guess we’re suppose to clear up over the next few days. I don’t care if the rain turns to snow as long as we dry up a bit. Miss Lucy would appreciate dryer accommodation as well! Pour thing was up to her ankles in water.
