Saturday Smiles!
Someone has been walking on the water!
After dropping Michelle off at Cindy’s house the other day, I stopped at a little swampy area next to the roadway, as I am often given to do. I wasn’t prepared for the Great Blue Heron that lifted up from the edge of the water as I pulled the Explorer into the little parking area. But, I did find this!
The flip-flop is actually sitting on top of the algae on top of the water! Yeah, kinda gross, but interesting!
It is nearly 8 am and I am waiting for the crew to awaken and arise. Today’s schedule of events calls for traipsing off to the woods for some firewood! (about time!!!)

That swamp reminds me of pea soup! I don’t think I’d want pea soup with a used flip-flop in it though…come to think of it, I don’t think I’d want pea soup at all!
Do you think the rest of the person is underneath?
What an interesting picture. I’m glad you showed this and not the “payday candy bar”!
Pea soup? Pfffttttt! I don’t think so! Amazing how thick algae can grow!
BILL! What a terrible thought! Hopefully, it is just litter!
Frances, I nearly choked laughing at your comment…Mark and the kids kept asking, “What is so FUNNY?”. And all I could do was LAUGH!!!!!
Wow, that algae is amazing! I’m guessing there’s not much living underneath it in the water, as it’ll be blocking out pretty much every ray of sun.
