What to Do, What to Do!
The discomfort level intensified today to the point where I was not alone in calling out, “Uncle”! Mark, who often is perplexed by my discomfort when the temperature arises found himself asking if we wanted to go for a little ride. This would indicate that another victim has fallen to the evil summer twins better known as heat and humidity!
I had taken several photos near Canandaigua Lake, and while they are nice photos, I decided to give myself a break today and just post my one favorite picture of the day.
The sun was setting low in the sky and I was fortunate enough to be there at the right time…..Hope you enjoy!

An excellent composition!
Thank you, sir! We drove out onto the city pier last evening and as we were going along, I called out for Mark to STOP immediately. Took him some time to react, though, and he wound up backing up several feet. He just didn’t see what *I* saw UNTIL I showed him the photo..hehehe
Like I have said before, life appears so diferent once you commence seeing everything from behind the lens!
That is a lovely shot – I’m glad you managed to stop in time!
Very nice shot. Did you get a thunderstorm last evening? We got thunder, lightening, and a spectacular rainbow. The colors were more vivid than I ever remember seeing in a rainbow and it was a full arch with a hint of a second one above the first. We were on 390 near the airport, so we were “up in the air” a ways and the view was incredible! I didn’t have my camera of course!!! I was driving anyway and Jeff would have had a coronary if I had pulled over on 390, LOL!
What a beautiful shot! Brighton got that thunderstorm, complete with torrential rain, but it must have gone south of Webster. Our sunroom, which I’d left wide open when we took the kids for their first taste of South Indian dosas, remained completely dry.
Hope you survived today’s storms without damage or power outages.
WHAM news reported some pretty severe weather down your way. Pity the poor guy whose car and house got hit by a downed tree during the Memorial Day storms, and got hit by another tree today!
Carly, that rain missed us. We did get some yesterday morning. The thunder rumbled and grumbled for over an hour. Then, it grew dark as night. Mark looked online to see what was happening. Seems a storm cell just suddenly appeared over Bristol and it was one of those “bright yellow and red” storms! The rain came down like streamers from the sky for probably about half an hour, then the sun came out and it felt like living in a terrarium the rest of the day. Lucky you, seeing that rainbow! When we were driving to Toronto, years ago, we saw a rainbow that was HUGE. The colors were very bright…I have never seen one like it before. Too bad I wasn’t able to get a photo…
Madeline, thank you! Every time it rains…..even the most “minor” storm, our electricity is bound to get buggered up. I think we reset our clocks here more than anyone!!!! We even had RG&E here to check out the lines. They were stumped….I had not heard about the person who got hit twice…that would be just terrible! (think I would seriously consider getting the chainsaw out to do some surgery!!!!)
