Kicking Around Canandaigua

I had to make a little run to Canandaigua this afternoon.  Since I wound up downtown, I decided to take a little tour around the block.

As I passed by these windows, they were just cying out to be photographed. I love the way the neighboring buildings are reflected on the windows…and look at the beautiful window planters underneath!

All over downtown, there are flowers planted in hanging baskets. The colors are fantastic!

This banner hanging downtown really says it all!

And what would any downtown be without  the hotdog vendor?

This is such a cozy little park area set right along Main Street….

Beautiful photos, once again! Canandaigua still lives up to it’s name — The Chosen Spot.

  • Oh Katya! I have sooooo missed reading your blog and had to take some time to catch up on all of your recent posts that I have missed!! I love looking at my hometown from another’s perspective!! You have such a great eye for perfect photos!! I get the feeling that something must have happened to Mark……as he is in a wheelchair….I think you mentioned a spinal injury? Love how your scottie just takes up residence like he belongs there!! As far as Kayak’s go…..if you are a member of BJ’s….we purchased two single kayaks from them last year and the price was very reasonable!! We have had very bad storms up here today and the humidity is unbearable! I thought I was the only one whose head explodes when it’s humid!

  • Thanks, Madeline and Bill!

Jeanne, Mark had trouble with his back for many years. (pain and aching) He went to the DR (James Maxwell) in November and in May, his back “went”. They said a small piece of bone broke off, lodging against the spinal cord, causing paralysis. They did surgery right away, but for reasons unknown, he was unable to walk. That was 9 years ago. Thanks for the tip about BJ’S! We had looked there, but they were out of them. Oh, the heat and humidity are enough to make a lot of people sream, I think!!!!! Keep cool!!!
