All is Fair in Love and War?

This morning, a dragonfly sitting on the back deck caught my attention.  I got the Nikon out and began photographing it although I didn’t have my contacts in my eyes yet….

I won’t comment on the pictures, as they more or less speak for themselves. Argh!

Since I couldn’t leave anyone with such terrible images in their minds (of me~)  I am posting a picture of my picture- perfect-petunia after a brief shower late this morning…

  • Don’t tell me you killed it with the camera! What got it? What happened? Inquiring minds want to know!
    The petunia is pretty!

  • Dayna,

I have no idea what happened with the dragonfly….all I know is that when I loaded the photos onto the computer (with the contacts in) I suddenly was seeing cannabalism! The remains looked just like the one that was doing the eating…..ewwwwww….I am getting goosebumps thinking about it. And so many people *like* dragonflies……

  • I’d be scared of what ever seemed to get it through the crack of the deck. Don’t step on a crack or you’ll lose your back! Hehe

  • Do dragonflies eat their mates like praying mantis? Good thing Sarah wasn’t there…she would have mounted the remains on paper, with packing tape…
Yes, we found dead “mounted” bugs on the dining room table one day. When questioned, she announced that she was studying them and that they were cool! Ugh!

  • Terri….methinks you are enjoying the weekend FAR too much! hahaha

Carly, I wondered about drgonflies eating one another but found nothing on the internet, although they do eat insects. (esp. mosquitoes!) That is too funny about Sarah. She needs to look up the info about HOW gypsy moths were introduced in the US. She might find it interesting…..
