A Very Long Day!
I was up by 5:30 this morning. As I listened through my open bedroom window, I kept hearing rustling leaves…I looked out, and there were 5 deer eating grass in the woods! I couldn’t photograph all 5 as they kept moving about.
I didn’t want to bother the deer, so I fiddled about in the bedroom for a while, picking up and putting things away. I didn’t want the Scotties to shoo the deer away so I waited until they were gone to take the boys out..Of course, Angus had his nose in the air, sniffing and proclaiming someone had been visiting his kingdom!
I can’t get over how much the scenery has transformed in the past few days. Less than a week ago, there was no sign of greenery, other than the moss found here and there in the woods.
Now….
the hill is greening behind the house….
May apples are sprouting up (must have happened overnight!)…
Ferns are springing up….
And the peonies are up to my knees!….
My little garden next to the house is growing like wildfire!
The kids went to a birthday party late this afternoon. Before they went, we had to take a short trip to the mall, where the tulips are GORGEOUS!
And the bright little faces of the pansies just make one smile!
Mark and I wandered around the little city where the party took place. It is in a very beautiful area and we spent our time feeling like tourists!
Ben stayed overnight as the party was a “boy’s” party. Michelle and another girl stayed until 9:30. We arrived home at nearly 11 pm and Michelle immediately went to bed. What a full day, but it was very pleasant!
