Well, I suppose I should have included a little information regarding little Tootsie.
Tootsie was bought from an Amish puppymiller in Penn Yan, New York. My sister-in-law’s daughter, along with her friends, decided Debbie *needed* a dog. Apparently, they read in the paper that pups were available. Nicole drove down and when she saw the deplorable conditions in which this little one was living, she decided to “spring” the pup. She was filthy and had a parasite. The kids cleaned her up and placed a red bow on her and gave her to my sister-in-law. Debbie immediately took Tootsie to the vet, where she was given meds and a good looking over. The vet says she appears to be in good health! Debbie has had Tootsie since October, and the little pup is smart as a whip. BTW, she is a Scoodle…..Scottish Terrier and Poodle. She has the poodle coat and personality! She is sweet and aims to please. (I have yet to see a Scottie that fills that bill!) She has learned to ring a bell to go outside, can give you one paw or the other, sits, does “down” and can roll over, as well as “dance”. Definitely more Poodle! She has very short legs, although longer than those of a Scot. Even though her coat resembles a poodle, she has straight hair by her little muzzle, resembing a Scottie’s beard! She is cute, cute, CUTE!
Debbie adores this little pup and Tootsie is her shadow. A very happy ending to a very sad beginning for one little Scoodle puppy!
Oops, Bill….I forgot to say that one ear up is Scottie. The other floppy ear is Poodle! The vet suggested Debbie leave the ears alone, as she has such a cute personality, and the ears seem to fit right in with it!
An Amish puppy mill? I just don’t see the Amish as ones who would run such a place. So out of the norm for them… odd. Tootsie is a perfect name for her! She looks like a Tootsie!
Woof grrrrooof roooof from Lucy and Abby!
We send our very best regards to the cute Tootsie from Bristolwood.
I found my dog in a German animals home, but she wear a tag with an American registration number. Also I found out that she was born in Illinois / Lake Michigan.
Since Tootsie has her own blog I leave messages wherever, because I do not believe the story I’ve been told about her fate. Whereas I suppose that her previos owner would be glad to know she’s well.
One ear up, one ear down – what is this world anyway?
Is Tootsie a Scottie? or part Scottie? or a Scottie wannabe?
