The Big (NON) Event
After all of the warnings we were given and the grand forecasts of snow measured in *feet* as opposed to *inches*, I was totally unimpressed to find about 2 inches of icy wet, heavy snow outside our house! Yes, that is it!
Apparently, the grand Nor’easter headed into other parts of the state, leaving the Finger Lakes region high and dry. The weather warnings continue on throughout the day, until 7 tomorrow morning, so I guess I will just have to see if we get *any* snow! Presently, we are experiencing some terrific wind. The trees are swaying about, and the little Scottie on the weathervane out back is turning this way and that, almost at a “dizzifying” (did I coin a new word?) speed!

We got icy stuff all night. Not really sure what to call it. When it hit the skylight it sounded like tiny hail. It came down all night long, and we have quite a white blanket outside. The winds haven’t started yet, but are supposedly coming. I have to run to the store to get milk, or perhaps just a cow, LOL! Stay warm!
Katya, Dizzifying shows up on this website with a last amended date of 12 June 2004 – Sorry not a new word!
Carlyb, just be sure the cow doesn’t freeze up as well!
We’re sitting down at the 4C level, but we’re beside the sea and have palm trees growing which indicates it normally doesn’t get too cold here.
heh…and I take back what I said about the weather here being mild, today has chilled my bones!
We’re still under a waning until noon monday.. there’s over a foot in the driveway and it’s still coming down. Guess it all depended on where you are.
I don’t think we got the 2 feet they said we’d get, but we got most of it. Since the girls wore their night things inside out and backward for a friend who is principal of a Catholic school, they got the day off, so I think we will too. I need to finish getting goodies ready to mail to Robbie, and I need to keep knitting on Jeff’s sweater. It will be another lazy, quiet day here.
