Carly, I cannot even believe I captured that shot...I had on my telephoto lens, which is a bit tricky. The little deer was a great way off in the distance. I figured where I thought the little one was going to head, firmly planted my arms on the open window of the Explorer....then waited. Sure enough, it came flying into my vision. I only *hoped* I caught it. You cannot imagine my joy when I loaded the pictures onto the laptop and there it was!!!! As you can see, the little bugger was moving about at a rather fast clip!!! This is a *good* year for photos of fawns!

I love the "laughing" deer! Kind of reminds me of the "you can't catch me..." line from the folk tale.

I think the only time I felt I was trespassing in a cemetery is when I went to the very old one with the even older back portion that was sort of hidden. Most of the time when I go to a cemetery I just feel like I am immersed in history; a history that I am not really a part of, but rather a casual observer of.

Bill,

It really is funny! I love going to cemeteries, as there is so much history and interesting stories there.

Last night, I looked online at one of the large cemeteries in my hometown. They had a listing of famous people buried there. Hmmm, I thought. Do you know who Lucille Ball was? As a child, I grew up watching "I Love Lucy" on TV. Well, I knew she was born near my hometown, but was surprised to find she is interred there as well! Also BF Goodrich, who as famous for his dealing in the manufacture of rubber tires, is buried there.

It's funny how we all react differently to the same stimuli. I feel that I'm welcome in a graveyard since, in looking at the stones - including the ones without inscription - I am in some small way remembering those who have gone before; even if I never knew them.
